Mitchell Odhiambo

GUEST LECTURER

Mitchell is a Machine Learning Engineer, a Corporate Finance Executive and an alumnus of the EquiTech Applied Data Institute. He is also one of the Co-founders of Measuring Carbon, an affiliate entity of EquiTech Futures whose mission is to provide a standardized, affordable and easy to use monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon emmisions and sequestration across the globe. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology where he got first-class honours.

He is the recipient of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya Scholarship and spent his early days doing expert financial modeling and data analysis for growth companies in East Africa. His work spanned Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Real Estate, Oil and Gas. Mitchell currently works as an associate researcher with EquiTech Futures and his current work involves building impactful AI solutions to address real world problems. Some of the problems Mitchell is currently trying to address include financial inclusion, making food affordable and leveraging geospatial data and soil sensor technology to address climate change.
