Shreyansi Jain
GUEST LECTURER
Shreyansi Jain a senior actuarial analyst at Cigma Healthcare, in the UK. She recently completed her Master of Statistics at the University of Glasgow (UK). She worked as a facilitator at NawiriTech for over 10 months, leading sessions on data science and statistics. She also worked as a demonstrator for the undergraduate students in the School of Mathematics and Statistics in her university. She has volunteered with ‘Statistics Without Borders’, a volunteer outreach group that aims to provide analytical services for the common good with a focus on helping developing countries. She is also an alumnus of the Equitech Applied Data Institute wherein she underwent training in the Foundations of Data Science and Applied Artificial Intelligence for the social good.
She spent her early days working with an actuarial consultancy on the Life Insurance side of business wherein she performed valuations of UK life insurers. During her tenure, she learnt the role of statistical tools in making predictions using the ever-expanding quantity of data that hence facilitate decision making. She is thus interested in leveraging data science tools to help solve challenges related to social inequality and address policy relevant questions. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Economics from the University of Delhi (India).
